Thar She Blows
Submitted On: 08/24/2010

The new Saturday night league is about to be finalized in the next week. We have eight returning players from last year Roberto, Brad, Dale, Ted, David, Cliff, Jeff and a few Ken, Scott & Ron are playing in both leagues. We have Brian Bridgeford returning from Iraq to play, Cliff has brought his son Chris Boyter in to teach him how real poker is played and we have McKenzie joining the group to do what she does best….. run her mouth! It's not like we needed another UPS man but we got JD Gossage anyways and looks like we got a Lawyer in the group this year. We have a great group of poker players this year and hopefully someone who can cash at next years WSOP. Maybe it will be our very own kid poker Brandon.

Ready for the Heartland? Start your plan of attack Submitted On: 08/02/2010

Ok PPPG'ers, it's that time of year again for the Heartland Poker tour in Blackhawk. Last year, Scott and Tara made an attempt at it. Will you give it a shot this year? Starting September 10th, $120 and $360 satellites will held leading up to the HPT main event on September 18th. Let's get some PPPG'ers to represent, eh?

4th Annual Garage Classic OH NO YOU DIDN'T Submitted On: 07/07/2010

One phrase to describe Walt and Mac’s White Trash BBQ…..NO YOU DIDN’T! I’m also afraid some of you who attended didn’t have to stray far from your normal wardrobe. The party was a hit. There was close to 40 people who attended this event. We even had a new comer who found it off this website – Brandon Weakland. The pictures that will be posted don’t do anybody true justice. There were a plethora of bellies, wife beaters, bad tattoos (some not even fake), hair curlers, bath robes, nascar crap and even some nipple tassels. The first one to win the beloved donkey was none other than Joe Bush. He was so tired of winning at league that he decided to play normal and look what that got him. The next 9 out were all chumps and then the sock bubble burst and all hell broke loose. I’ve never seen so many anxious people just ready to blow their chips to get a sock prize. Some of the prizes consisted of food products, t shirts, starter kits like how to build your own poker table, feminine products, tattoos, gift cards, etc. At the first break the costume winners were announced – Joe, Walt, and Ken were proud to tote their new trophies and I’m sure will be displayed in their homes. The final table had a few poker donkeys (ok, not just a few, but I’m trying to be nice) and some old pros. Lori Ray had the unfortunate title of bubble girl last night. In the $$ money was Ron, Gary, new guy Joe, new guy Chris, and ?? uh, my memory this morning is foggy cause it’s freakin early. AND CLIFF! HE WAS THE 5TH PERSON I HAD FORGOTTEN. MY bad, Cliff. Over at the cash table or shall I say DOOR, there was more smack talk than at a REAL white trash BBQ. Oh, and on a sidenote, loved that Dennis fell into the kiddie pool. Nice one, dork. Huge thanks to Mac and Walt for putting together a great party. Loved seeing new faces and all that skin. SYATFT…….

Party's Over Who's ready for next year? Submitted On: 07/01/2010

What a whirlwind annual trip to Vegas for all us PPPG'ers! Again, we have left our stamp in sin city. Here is a little recap of all the happenings:
Wednesday – Scott, Amy, Ron, Mac, Walt, Dale, and Paul all played in the $1500 event with a great showing. All of them put in some effort but in the end, the cards just didn’t speak well to them. Cliff competed in the mega satellite and made it to the final table but just couldn’t pull the trigger. Off to the Mandalay Bay where vodka shots were lined up and ready. Then off to Blondies for beer pong. Who did the best? T & A of course winning 2 of their games (see there is a first time for everything).
Thursday – nervous Jeff played in the mixed event. We were all pulling for him (from the pool that is) and he was out early enough to make it to downtown where the celebration just kept on going! At the Fitz…uh, I can’t remember who really won. Too many footballs. Oh wait, I think it was Dale! Holla!
Friday – Mark and Joe got ready to give it the old college try. Both made it past dinner and then got the axe. But a bunch went to the Mirage for bragging rights at the bounty tourney with Sean P and Lori taking a chop and winning some $$. But best of all, many PPPG’ers have some say after winning others bounty chips. Oh, got to go back to another tourney at the MGM..I think Ron won? Yikes!
Saturday – besides that crap ass soccer game, the day was great. Prep time for the party and a party it was! Is it possible to have that good of time? Yep, it sure is. We had 77 people show up to represent us PPPG. That is truly unbelievable. After 26 witchdoctors who knew we were such good looking people?
Sunday – the pool cabana was for recovery. Poker was still on the brain as a whole crap load tried the $200 deep stack to no winners and Ken went down to try his luck at the mega satellite. Whoosh..and then it was over!
Thanks to all of you for making it the best PPPG weekend ever. Pictures will follow under the destination tab sometime and the interviews too. Our webmaster is still recovering from the footballs, witchdoctors, chicken wings, and too many beerzzzzz. Get your 2011 calendar out and ready for the next year. What will top this one? Hmmm, I already have some new ideas… Let’s hear your thoughts by you actually blogging! SYATFTPA (Party Animals!)
P.S. Good Luck to Gary who so far has the only 2010 WSOP cash and is still bumping and grinding it Vegas. Good Luck to you.
