A new leader!
Lots of changes
Submitted On: 01/23/2012

And a new leader was formed..or rather outlasted the other dimwits at their table. The last 3 league nights have been a wild ride on the leaderboard. Shawn held the lead for awhile, then it was Gary to take the spot, and after Saturday, Joe now sits on top. There are still many contenders if they can get some good showings in the next few nights to take that top spot.

The bottomfeeders have also shown movement. Ron and Greg have climbed out of the basement and are using Shutters and Cary as their mattresses. Once again, Jane is down there but she’s going to try crawling her way back up.

Then there are the rest of the us in the middle trying to get a first place finish to catapult us on top. There are a lot of league nights left to make a serious dent in those top spots. Good Luck.

PPPG Rotary Poker
5 Teams to represent
Submitted On: 01/10/2012

Once again, we’ve received the call to show up at the Rotary in force. Will it be the Wick Deeds who represent again? Will someone spill red wine all over the nice white table cloths again? Will they ever change the rules to something sorta representing real poker? So far, 5 teams are signed up. Wick Deeds, Hotties, Fishfinders, Donk Donk Donkeys and the Busted Flushes. All these questions and more will be answered on February 11th. Get those teams of 6 ready for some fun. The PPPG had at least 1 person representing at every table last year. Come down and see what all the fuss is about and for a good cause. SYATFT.

Want to talk Poker?

Submitted On: 11/08/2011

There is a little known feature on the PPPG website that very few have tried. Under the "PPPG Information" menu, you will find an option call "Poker Talk". This is our very own poker forum, giving all members the ability to create new topic threads or add to an existing discussion. This is a great way to talk smack, pose interesting poker questions, etc. Give it a try! How about commenting on one of the few topics or better yet, create a new discussion topic. Who knows... it may be fun and educational!!

UPDATE your profile
You don't want to be a donkey forever.
Submitted On: 07/11/2011

Do you recognize the picture to the left? Yes, that’s the default PPPG profile picture when you sign up. Do you really want to be a donkey like everyone thinks you must be? No, of course not. I suggest you update your member profile with a new picture, your 2011 winnings (yeah, some of us actually did cash so far) and a little pizzazz. Forgot your PPPG username/password? No worries – email the webmaster and request a new one. Don’t wait too long or we just might think you really are that donkey.

Here is a brief summary of our time in the city we love.

Wednesday: Dale and Brad tackle the $2500 with gusto. Ring Ring – Brad's out! What, no way! He got rivered when the villain who held the AceD had to suck out on Brad's flopped King high diamond flush. Damn that villain. Good shot though Brad. We didn't even clank you on your play. The clock was ticking and go go go Dale. Can he bag those chips? His first goal? Yep, accomplished and done and done. Bob is up next with the satellite and did the grind only to get busted out a few shy of the big money main event buy in payout. So close. Back with the other losers at the Haufbrahaus – spankings, spankings, and yes more spankings. Awesome time Joe. Much love to you and those fine ladies with the paddles. Then, beer pong where unfortunately team TNA had "technical difficulties" but the Deeds and some other team made it to the 2nd round. Start training now people.

Thursday: A day of some serious poker. Mac, Ken, Dee, Jay, Scott, and G pirate hit the $1500. Mac had hot action at her table with Jennifer Tilly sitting across from here. *sigh*. Let those chips roll, wait..we have to wait on Jay as he is almost winning the 9:00 satellite. Cards starting flying and chips riffling. Love that sound. Back at break, everyone still in – yes! Dale comes back for day 2 with a few chips and some nervousness. We gave him some sound advice and some shout outs from 'you peeps the PPPG'. Meanwhile, back again with the losers, martinis at the stratosphere (good times) and then our special donkey drunk footballfest at the Fitz. But who shows up, Scott and Dee who were bounced. (sad voice). At the fitz – the final table was pretty much the entire PPPG with a chop in the end. There is cheering and more cheering as our very own Dale has cashed in his event! We were pumped and lived through his everyhand so we too could taste that victory. Another phone call, and we find Mac has bagged her chips. Yahoo!

Friday: Party day and another cash with Mac in the WSOP. That was icing on the cake to a great party at Gilley's. Bullriding, beer, scoobysnacks, some random girl with a thong on that bull, great food and friends. Just good old fashioned fun. The winner of the PWWW contest was revealed to be Greg who has big plans to buy in either next year’s WSOP or the WSOP in New Orleans (yes yes he loves that place).

Saturday: Of course the one group poker event planned is cancelled due to the high turnout at Caesars, but no worries head up to a bounty at MB. We made that room have their best turnout ever with 18 of us playing. Sad. Amy E, Bob, Greg, and Ron all in the moolah. Too bad its a crap tourney. Next year peeps, something with substance, eh?

Sunday: Amy E and Lori are up for their satellites while the losers again hit the pool and beeerzzz. Lori gave it a good run to the 2nd break, but again that Amy was on a roll. She was winning when she was in and was oh so close going out 13th with pay starting at 7th.

Mixed in all of this there were many other tourneys our peeps cashed in – Harrahs, Mirage, and PH. Way to spread around the love. As I sit here and type this, I am chuckling to myself at all the jokes, chips, hits and misses we all encountered out there. I often dream of poker big wins but I have the actual memories of my PPPG peeps that can't end when I awake. Good Luck to us all and may 2012 bring us all back together for another PPPG shot at a bracelet. It will happen.

SYATFT.
